There doesn't appear to be a date on the can, but there is a QR code to look up the date on the brewery website: "10-22-2021"
From the can it also states: "BATCH #584"
Appearance: The body is completely opaque. It has a dulled, desaturated, beige-orange body. There is the occasional large piece of matter that is floating in the beer that looks dark but mostly there are small white floaters. The head has this foamy look to it which is similar to packing peanuts, and is a bit of a light yellow-tan color. The head is large and very slowly fades out to a medium-short size. There isn't any traditional lacing but there's these small particles stuck to the inside of the glass. It can be a good looking beer at times but other times it just looks like pulped and unfiltered fruit.
Aroma: As soon as the can is cracked, and especially while pouring, there is this grassy aroma. In the glass there is a strong aroma of apple sauce and pear with a hint of honey. It smells just like applesauce.
Taste: It tastes just like it smells. Up front it is apple sauce with what tastes like bartlett pear and a hint of brown sugar and cinnamon. Tart apple in the middle of the palate. The flavors stay consistent throughout. It is tad grassy on the finish. There is a maple and brown sugar aftertaste which creeps in.
Mouthfeel: It is tart and easy to drink. It appears much thicker than it really is on the palate and it is quite drinkable.
Overall: It was a very enjoyable beer. The can states that this is a "SOUR ALE WITH APPLE PUREE, PEAR PUREE, GINGER, MAPLE SYRUP, VANILLA AND LACTOSE." Most of those ingredients make a showing, especially the apple puree. The pear also makes a notable appearance which is rare for pear to stand out in beers. Ginger and vanilla don't really appear on the nose or in the palate. The maple syrup comes across very faintly but mostly shows up on the palate after the fruit flavors have died down. As a whole it is a very enjoyable beer. Although the appearance of the beer leaves something to be desired, I would definitely drink it again based on the aroma, flavor, and the great mouthfeel. I would especially recommend it to apple lovers.
