I don't see a date on the can or label. I scanned the QR code but it just takes me to a list of beers and this one is not there. I have experienced this a lot in the past with the brewery where the beers aren't on the website.
Appearance: The beer pours a purple-pink color which is transparent, but when the beer gets to the last 1/3 or so of the can it starts to become opaque and large chunks appear in the glass. It fizzes but no head forms. The color is nice but otherwise the pale chunks are unappealing.
Aroma: It smells like raspberry jam.
Taste: It tastes like raspberry and strawberry up front. The middle of the palate has a bit of an alcohol character which pops in from time to time but it fades out quickly. The strawberry and raspberry flavors persist to the finish. It tastes a bit like eating a raspberry popsicle but much lighter. In a way it is like drinking an Italian soda with raspberry flavoring. After a while it develops a bit of green banana flavor which is interesting.
Mouthfeel: It has a light and effervescent body which is very refreshing. It feels like drinking a seltzer but there is more body and a light bit of texture. It has a bit of tartness which is good. It is a very refreshing drink.
Overall: The label states that this is a "FRUITED SOUR WITH RASPBERRY PUREE, MANGO PUREE, AND PINEAPPLE PUREE." The raspberry definitely comes through and the beer has a bit of a strawberry flavor which isn't actually an ingredient. It never tastes like mango or pineapple but the raspberry flavor is very good. As a whole the beer is very enjoyable and refreshing with a pleasant raspberry flavor, so as long as you enjoy raspberries it's worth buying if you can ignore the chunks floating in the beer. It probably isn't something I'm likely to buy again but I will enjoy the other 3 cans I have left.
