Firstly I'm comparing this to the original recipe and original Bogman by Spiddal River Brewery. This American-style pale ale lacks character, lacks taste and lacks alcohol content. It has become bland and commercial. I was an AVID follower of the original (before re-branding/change) so my approach is based upon a biased experience. Would I recommend the new version? Unfortunately, no I would not, not in comparison to the original. On it's own, not taking previous experience into account, I give it a low mark - poor head retention, lacks flavour, lacks distinction, looses carbonation quickly, lacks alcohol content, perhaps an interesting first-time try for some but for me it does not compare to the original Bogman by Spiddal River Brewery. So it's good bye to my once favourite drink (average 15 bottles / weekly) to now NONE.

Had on-tap at Padraicins near Spiddal, Ireland. Poured into a long-stemmed goblet.
L: Poured a semi opaque toffee brown color. One finger of off-white head.
S: Nutty and sweet... caramel and fig.
T/F: Malty and rich... with caramel tones and an almost tart nutty flavor. Low hop presence at the finish to clear the palate. Medium in body. Well carbonated.
O: A nice complex brown ale... complex, flavorful, and rather unique. A great effort from a new brewery.
