Collaboration with Mikkeller. Finished in an oak foeder for 7 months this Oude Kriek is characterized by intense fruitiness. The world famous Stevnsbær Cherries are clearly dominant, supported by touches of almond, vanilla and some oak.

another really dope collaboration between these two, what a cool beer! a bottle for a celebratory occasion, and finally we had one, a rare brother visit and a baby shower, felt like the right time, man do i love a good old kriek, and this one is old, not sure how old, can only find a best by 2042 date on the label, but these are built to last, and its holding up predictably awesome. a very mikkeller looking label, but im confident this is a product from boon. gorgeous blood red color on this, really deep dark saturated ruby toned, dense looking but clean too, sparkling with a short and fading pink head and some decent viscosity apparent, no real sediment to it, fizzy enough but mellow there, crazy unique in aroma and flavor. the nose is tart, really sharp, both from the cherries and the ferment, pushing vinegar, red wine, and red raspberry too, but the cherry is so bright and obvious, so intense, insane how much fruit they got in this, awesome mouthwatering lambic in play as well of course, real woody and tannic, as bretty as it is sour, the fruit does not cover up the ferment, real complex, cherry driven, juicy, addicting to just keep smelling, but the flavor is killer too, so much cherry, minerality, cherry wine, the quality of this fruit is sick and the intensity is next level. the base beer shows as boon, some neat green glass funk, straw and hay and raw wheat, nuances of strawberry, springtime rose wine, and a heap of oak. long on the palate without being overly sweet, grippy and sharp on the palate with just enough carbonation, super well aged at this point, but also showing no signs of deterioration in the cellar, wish i had another bottle to extend. looks like they do another finish on this one too, which i would kill to try. rare and fancy, worth seeking out, two of the best coming together here, epic cherries, borderline unforgettably good.
