Canned 08/07/18
Appearance - Pours with moderate haze and bright, coppery orange in color with an off-white, near two-finger width head. Good retention before dissipating to a thin, broken layer of suds that thicken up the closer it gets to the edge of the glass. Good amount of lacing with broken webbing and spotting.
Smell - Strong aroma that fills the general area when the can is cracked, with juicy, tropical notes of orange, pineapple, mango and guava. Hint of peach and a faint caramel malt sweetness.
Taste - Not quite as explosive as the nose leads on. A bit of dank earth upfront with pops of orange, mango, tangerine and then some pineapple by mid-taste. Faint caramel undertone. Light stonefruit. Finish lingers with a touch of earth, orange pith and tropical fruitiness.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair, tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with velvety finish. You'd never know this was 10%.
Overall - It's a damn good brew and smooth as hell for a 10%, but the slight dank flavor upfront doesn't quite do it for me. That said, the rest of the flavor profile is on point.
