Canned on 8/29/19. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy glowing deep amber; creamy light khaki head that falls slowly leaving great retention and nice lacing. It doesn't look like your traditional dark porter, but it still looks nice nonetheless. The aromas have lots of anise/black licorice leading the way. Subtle hints of cinnamon and allspice. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose. More anise along with some cinnamon. Some ginger and nutmeg in the mix. Some cocoa coming through. Some chocolate coming through in the finish. Some roasted characteristics as well. Moderate bitterness. Malts do their thing without dominating. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's light-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, crisp, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a solid pumpkin beer. It's bold for being such a light beer. It doesn't exactly come off as a porter although it has some characteristics of the style. It's enjoyable and fitting for the fall weather at the end of the day. I like it.

Burnt brown with minimal carbonation eschewing a head.
Caramelized pie crust, roasted spiced pumpkin, maybe a little coffee or roasted malt.
Light, but enjoyable.
