Retired? Bought one in Jasper and drank it just this week in a 650 ml bottle. No dates of any kind on it however. Sent and update.

Someone said poured hazel. Mine poured crystal clear, with noticeable traces of carbonation. Scent out performed the case, which I alway hate. Could have been a bit better balanced. Only 8% alcohol but had a high alcohol edge to the taste and the feel. Overall was enjoyable and I love Bond films so extra marks for letting me now have a Bond bottle for the collection.

Pours hazy copper with plenty of white head that leaves plenty of lacing.

Nose has citrus grapefruit, some pine.

Taste is a very well balanced and smooth citrusy beer with a slight bitter finish.

It's excellent.

Appearance - Pours a light amber with two fingers of foamy white head.

Smell - piney hops, orange, grapefruit peel, bready caramel malts.

Taste - Piney hops, orange, bitter grapefruit peel, and sweetness from the caramel malts.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes with a pleasant lingering bitterness from the piney hops.

Overall - An enjoyable DIPA from Yukon that has a. I am digging the label on this one. I look forward to what Yukon will come out with next.

650ml bottle. By my count, there have been at least two other imperial IPAs produced by Yukon, but none of them seem to totally line up with this, their latest bomber effort.

This beer pours a clear, bright medium copper amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, frothy, and quite bubbly eggshell white head, which leaves some random splattered paint job lace around the glass as things evenly sink away.

It smells of biscuity, grainy caramel malt, a pleasing chalky flintiness, orange and white grapefruit rind, a bit of understated berry fruitiness, and a further leafy, piney hop bitterness. The taste is more biscuity, crackery pale and caramel malt sweetness, a consistent flinty stone character, pithy orange, lemon, and Texas red grapefruit, more subtle juicy dark fruit, and an edgy piney, slightly perfumed floral bitterness.

The bubbles are pretty low-key in their stealthy, fizzy support job, the body a so-so medium weight, and smooth with a certain hop and alcohol caveat, i.e. they could show up at any minute, y'know? It finishes a tad off-dry, the grainy, gritty caramel malt sticking out its nose, just to see if the hops feel like lopping it off.

An interesting take on the style, Yukon's English leanings on full display here, it would seem - it's like drinking a blend of ESB and DIPA, this is. Maybe it's the James Bond, 'The Spy Who Loved Me' take-off on the label, but that's what I get, and what I get, I'm rather enraptured with - perhaps the expertly integrated alcohol would speak about that, if it could, much like a certain pursuant 'Soviet' ski assassin.
