Appearance - Pours a reddish copper with three fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - earthy, leafy, floral, and hint of piney hops, hint of pine resin, earthy spruce aromas, bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy, leafy, floral, and hint of piney hops upfront. The hint of pine resin comes through next followed quickly by a nice punch from the earthy spruce. The bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the earthy spruce and hops lingering.
Overall - A pleasant and engagable spruce beer. Compared to the version that Garrison does, this one fairs quite well. I like how you can taste the "wild-foraged" spruce. Another solid brew from the folks at Yukon.
