A- This pours a thick oily browny black color with a solid two-three finger thick head, that itself is a dark caramel color....excellent retention, eventually settling down to a thick layer over top the brew. The lacing looks to be sticky and clings very well to the inside of the glass....I'm guessing the carbonation is smooth and velvety based off of how fine the head appears!

S- Overall I find the aromas mild on this one, however there are notes of semi sweet chocolate, vanilla bean, mocha, cream, along with some traditional Earthy char and dark barley malt varieties!

T- Ok, the coffee is more pronounced and duly noted on the palate, and after the initial burst of flavor, calming vanilla, chocolate truffle creme, dark fruitiness and as it warms up, the chocolate becomes darker and the coffee becomes more espresso like! The finish is dry, yet semi sweet bitterness lingers after the swallow.

M/O- This is a very decently smooth beer, and while the aromas leave a little to be desired, it is made up well by the flavors....I do not really get the whisky barrel aging in this one, but I'm sure it's there. The high alcohol is well hidden, and the more I taste this, the more I am liking it! Good job by Yukon....I'll get this again

Appearance - Pours a dark jet black with three fingers of frothy mocha tan head that leaves some puffy lace on the glass.

Smell - whiskey barrel, char, earthy, leafy, and floral hops, cocoa, coffee bean, vanilla, dark fruits (raisin, plum, fig), roasted malts, and earthy yeast.

Taste - whiskey barrel and char upfront. Then it quickly goes into the vanilla and coffee bean. The earthy, leafy, and floral hops come through next. The roasted malts, dark fruits (raisin, plum, fig), and earthy yeast round out the brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes velvety smooth with the vanilla, coffee bean, and whiskey barrel lingering.

Overall - A pleasant and flavourful imperial stout with vanilla and coffee. I like how the barrel plays a pleasant supporting cast member alongside the vanilla and coffee. Another stand out from Yukon from their barrel aged program. I think they should continue experimenting with their barrels for future brews.
