A- This pours out of the can in a creamy fashion, with a dark brown used motor oil color complimented by a dark caramel toned head that starts out as a full finger before is noisily settles quickly into a patchwork of foamy film over top the brew....it currently looks like a six point star, and there is a fizzy ring around the inside of the glass. Too hard to see what is happening with the lacing obviously but the lacing isn't super impressive, with only an oily/watery film clinging to the inside of the glass, as the patchwork of fizz swirls about. Overall an average looking stout, if not slightly above grade.
S- Most definitely a heavy aroma of smooth charred whisky barrel, boozy peat smoke, burnt cocoa beans, chocolatey dark roast coffee bean, Earthy damp soil, dark and milk chocolates, vanilla robustness, dark fruits such as prune, fig and raisin, with a finish that is of hopped dark toffee and burnt almond...splendid!
T- Oh yes this has much of the same attributes that the aromas let on about....surprisingly, the dark fruitiness is what my palate gets first, with sweet raisin, prune and fig dominating, all rounded out with a tart cherry character. This cherry is a Bing coated with dark chocolate, at least 80% cocoa content, and all with a sweet syrupy centre. There is a yeasty bready cooked chocolate and/or black malt bitterness, Earthy charred graininess, burnt boozy whisky barrel, and Bourbon itself. The finish would be described best as chocolate mocha blended with a slightly hopped leafy note, and of course a little bit of alcohol. Savoury!
M/O- This is a medium bodied brew that coats the palate well, allowing multiple levels of flavor to coat and be noted. The carbonation is plentiful enough yet the bubbles are tight and just the way I like it for a stout. I can't say the alcohol is well hidden, as I have found more than once that I catch some tingling from the 9.5%, and gather gulps of whisky robustness, however, this is a highly drinkable Imperial Stout, as it is super smooth and may very well pair well with a dark chocolate based dessert.....dare I say a Christmas cake or Black Forest?! A great offering by Yukon and hopefully I get another chance to enjoy this one!

Appearance - Pours a dark jet black with four fingers of frothy mocha tan head.
Smell - whisky barrel, char, peat, earthy, leafy, and floral hops, cocoa, coffee bean, dark fruits (raisin, plum, fig), roasted malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - strong notes from the whiskey barrel upfront followed by the char and peat. The earthy, leafy, and floral hops come through next. The cocoa, coffee bean, and dark fruits (raisin, plum, fig) come through next. The roasted malts and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth with the pleasant notes from the whisky barrel lingering.
Overall - A pleasant offering from Yukon. I was wondering when they were going to release barrel aged stout and they delivered on all fronts. The whiskey is quite noticeable but is quite smooth tasting after that. The ABV is well hidden in this one as well. Well done Yukon. Nice to see their whiskey barrels getting good use.
