Unplugged Public House Ale

Pours a mostly clear pale amber colour with a light tan, orange-tinged head. Inviting. The faint whiff of aroma that is there is pleasant and hesitantly promising: biscuit and perhaps honey—but alas, it's all so faint you're not even sure you really smelled it. The biscuit and honey hinted at in the aroma come through stronger on the tongue, followed by a late, building bitterness, and an almost sticky, sickly-sweet note (diacetyl?). It has a somewhat creamy mouthfeel, medium weight. It's okay. Enjoyable at first, but that sticky flavour gets a bit cloying by the end, and I wouldn't want to drink more than one.
