Another Yukon seasonal, made available in Edmonton by the Urban Diner. I passed the big sign for it a half dozen times in the last little while, before finally giving in...
This beer appears a bright, yet slightly hazy medium golden colour, with one finger of soapy off-white head, which leaves a ring of hanging webbed lace around the glass in its wake. It smells of undercooked bready malt, a bit of earthy fruitiness, and leafy hops. The taste is sweet doughy malt, mild tangy raspberries, a bit of sugary nuttiness - almond-paste-like, and leafy, earthy hops. The carbonation is moderate, the body medium weight and generally smooth. It finishes with an abating breadiness, and lingering mild drying hops.
A decent enough quaffer, just not very representative of its name - little wheat or raspberry character makes it into this brew. I'm left with much more of a well-made cream ale impression, with a fruity inclination.
