A - a deep amber brown, short off white head dissipated to a thin cover
S - roasted pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel
T - just like the nose with the spice notes coming through with more strength, and the pumpkin flavour is natural and rich
M - medium body, smooth and a little sticky, light spice tingle on the finish
O - this is a very well built pumpkin brew, the balance of pumpkin and spice is on point, and there is nothing artificial in the flavour which is often the case with this style, a must try in my opinion

341ml bottle, once again sheathed in an encompassing tube that exhibits the same jokey bon mots as on the label, this time promoting the benefits of a pumpkin experience, beer and pie alike. Also called "Angry Hessian" on tap in Whitehorse and points south.

This beer pours a crystal clear, medium copper amber hue, with one finger of weakly foamy, and somewhat bubbly dirty white head, which leaves a low-lying wash of peninsular arch lace around the glass as things slowly sink away.

It smells of biscuity, bready caramel malt, mild indistinct gourd flesh, yer typical melange of nutmeg, ginger, and clove, and a less sweet than expected brown sugar essence. The taste is still malt-heavy, a gritty, somewhat sourdough-heavy pale maltiness presiding, while some mildly metallic spice lingers about - clove, muddled tabletop pepper, and stale ginger - and the pumpkin duly fading into obscurity amongst the equally sedate earthy hops.

The carbonation is low-key, but strong enough to effect a genuine mouthfeel, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth, a very slight clamminess worming its way in. It finishes off-dry, the blithe malt, waning gourd and attendant spices riding things out.

Not the most pressing or interesting seasonal offering I have yet come across - the spice and guest vegetable coming across as understated, and bordering on easily forgettable, sadly. Oh well, apparently I have enough other pumpkin and Oktoberfest beers to get through, to take me well into November.

Last edition of the Brewer's A.D.D. series as Yukon Brewing prepares to do something new.

Appearance - Pours a rusty copper with a half finger of bubbly white head.

Smell - Pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, hint of brown sugar.

Taste - Spices are very present (nutmeg, clove, cinnamon). Pumpkin flavour is sort of there, but definitely played on the lighter side. Toasted malts and caramel flavours as well.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation.

Overall - I was expecting a lot more pumpkin in this brew, so a bit disappointing. The spice palate takes control. In some instances, it tastes more like an amber/red ale. Perhaps the ingredient quantities need some revision.
