L: Had this beer on-tap at Two Blokes taproom, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of creamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.
S: A decent, if a little one-note, aroma of roasted malt, smoke, chocolate, and hops.
T: Tasted of a moderate amount of roasted malt (noticeable throughout), some light dark chocolate notes (could have used more), lots of the smoky quality, and light hops in the finish. Like the aroma, the flavor is a little one-note. It has lots of smoke, which kind of overpowers everything else. Still, it's not bad flavor.
F: A solid amount of carbonation with a dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: On the whole, this is a likable beer, in spite of some flaws. Worth a look. Would like to try the barrel aged version of this beer.
