I got one of these back on July 3rd at our local riverfront Independence Day blowout. Was served on draft by the good folks from Donum Dei here in New Albany IN. Sorry I am just now getting to the review, but that's OK, I reviewed it on another website so I have notes and this one made a BIG impression on me. Witbier? Weissbier? They called it a Wit but is is more a Weiss IMO.
Apperance: As good as one can get poured from tap into a damn plastic cup. A little darker than the standard. Cloudy. Forget the head, it was 95 and humid.
Smell: Banana right in the face. Clove. Fragrant.
Taste: Holy crap. Banana bread, allspice, some vanilla, just the right amount of clove, floral and a very small hint of rind. Nailed it. This is good stuff. Really good stuff.
Mouth: On point. Not overly carbed up. For an unfiltered it finished clean.
Overall: From a little brewery in Indiana comes a beer to battle the Europeans. Highly recommended.
