perhaps my least favorite beer from our time here, not a bad one, but it doesnt rise to the level of their belgian ale portfolio for the most part, its a grainy lager, but its generic and not as overtly well made as i kind of settled into here, its hully and husky and earthy and almost overly cereal forward, dusty, perhaps made with belgian pils malt, but its not yeasty in any real sense, basic lager yeast adding some breadiness with this grain, a little doughy and raw, faint phenolics as it warms up to near room temperature. maybe too light on hops to be dynamic at all, and not that light in body so its not like a ripper or a palate cleanser, which i can see why they would want on their menu, but this didnt scratch that itch, but it could have been a little palate fatigue after cooking through so many of their beers in the same session, ill admit thats a possibility. some curious minerality, out of place maybe, not quite metallic, but it lingers some, not all the way pleasant and it makes it seem less than fresh. not totally sure what they were going for with this, and while i appreciated something a little lighter and nice and bubbly after all the big stuff, the proportions are strange, the overall flavor not all the way appealing to me, and not as light and bright as it could be, a tad filling and a little bit of a miss, but i will revisit this one when i can on a fresher palate. still, loved visiting this place again after a long time and have a lot of love for what they are doing.
