Can from Tavour. Near black pour, thin head. Light roasty aroma. Vanilla makes its presence known in the taste, light, and not overly sweet. It works well with the bitterness, and finishes dry.

With vanilla that didn't come through for me, but a decent standard stout if you're in the area.

Poured into a Spiegelau stout glass, the appearance is very dark brown with two fingers of dense, rocky, tan head. The head has excellent retention and lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malt and a hint of vanilla. Taste is just like the nose, slightly bitter dark roasts and a subtle vanilla presence. Medium bodied with a hint of char on the finish.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger light brown head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa and vanilla, a hint of coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt with moderate char, milk chocolate and vanilla. Charry vanilla finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A robust stout that is quite vanilla forward. The vanilla seems to mask some the of the cocoa and coffee flavors. The base malt has very pleasant dark malt and char. I liked this stout quite a bit, but think the vanilla was a little heavy handed. I'd like to try the base beer, will look for other brews from this, my first New Jersey brewery.

Very dark appearance with nice tan head that disipates quickly. Aroma is a very pleasant vanilla malt. Taste is also a very pleasant vanilla malt that is slightly sweet.
