Poured from a can (06May2021) into a tall R+B glass
L: pours a somewhat turbid darker yellow gold, big and thick slightly off-white head, medium amount of fast- carbonation (what’s the middle term, between slow and fast?). Head fades after a couple minutes, leaves some thick lacing as it does. Lacing with each sip is excellent
S: that juicy/dank/piney WCIPA nose, get fresh squeezed/surf wax vibes for sure. Think peach, mango, pineapple, weed, pine. Slightly sweet from the fruit side, earthy. A bit of grapefruit pith. Those pleasantly bitter notes take over for the fruit as it’s warmed
T: delivers the nose beautifully. That great combination of fruit with a hit of pine and bitterness. Fruit opens, notes of peach, pineapple, mango, and moves to a piney and earthy bitterness fairly quickly. On that bitterness, find it assertive in a good way - present, not the dominant characteristic (no IBU wars here) but makes itself known. Finish is a nice hit of fruit again flowing into a dank and piney bitterness. As it’s warmed that piney/weed character starts to come through more. Also I get that grapefruit pith note, not sure if it’s more present now or I’m just picking it out
F: medium+ body, medium carbonation, nicely drying. Very drinkable - that pleasant bit of bitterness that welcomes another sip
O: not surprisingly, amazing execution. Nose is a great combination of fruit-forward hops without losing those piney/dank notes. Flavor delivers what the nose suggests and then some, really well done
