Poured from a can (27Jan2022) into a R+B tube glass
L: pours a very nice, glowing, totally opaque orange gold. Very dense meringue-like head, slowly fading over a couple of minutes and leaving chunky lacing as it does
S: very nice fruit notes with a bit of sweetness and a pleasant earthiness. Navel orange, a bit of pineapple. Some grassy character coming through, especially as it warms. Nice aroma overall, wouldn’t say it’s flooring but that grassy note is a nice differentiator. Trying to see if there’s anything I’d attribute directly to the honey, not finding it
T: soft citrusy notes up front, pineapple and that slightly acidic/sweet orange slice character. Toward the middle that grassy note from the nose comes through, taking place of that citrus fruit - really nice and well done. Pleasant medium+ finish, a bit more slight caramel sweetness coming through as I finish this can. Overall would say the flavor is on the lighter side for a R+B DIPA
F: medium carbonation, medium- body. Smooth, lighter feel overall and certainly for a R+B brew
O: really nice DIPA from R+B, as expected. Not sure what’s 100% the honey vs. other ingredients, but get a nice dessert sweetness against the fruit notes combined, with a grassy character that’s balanced and differentiated
