Finally, a chance to get my hands on a can of Root + Branch and indeed, it was worth the wait! Heard a lot about these guys and I was able to get this at Evil Twin in Queens not too long ago. Indeed, this was a great beer that didn't feel like a Triple as it was so full-flavored and soft with a hidden alcoholic presence!
Like any good IPA from these parts, this was cloudy, golden, and topped off with a sufficient head that evenly settled and complemented the liquid nicely. Loads of pineapple, honey, citrus juice, and summery grass in the nose as the taste was just as boisterous, slick, and lively as I expected. Lots of sweetness tied everything in together as this was quite slick and sticky underneath the surface, with a nice grassy undertone and earthy presence being the base of this beer. A good amount of carbonation ensured that this stayed as light as could be, down to the last sip!
Hard to pick up the alcohol here although I could feel it kick in as I finished this off. Couldn't read the writing on the bottom of the can, although this was released a little over a month ago. Lots going on here as the feel to this was of spicy bread but in the end, this was a meal in a can that only improved as it sat in my glass and warmed up. The hype was real as I enjoyed this and had to pace myself to keep it from leaving my glass too quickly. So glad to get my hands on this!

Poured from a can (10Feb2022) into an R+B tube
L: pours a completely opaque, slightly more muted (vs. Ch. III) orange gold with a truly meringue-like head that fades slowly over 3+ minutes
S: big, big dank notes from this. don’t think i got this as much from the first can, but serious fresh weed. behind that a pleasant mix of fruit - some pineapple, light citrus. A bit of earthiness, but not that grassy nature from Ch. III
T: follows the nose well. A bit of that slightly dank character paired with pleasant tropical fruit notes. Pineapple, bit of a gummy candy character, some citrusy bitterness. Fuller flavor than Ch. III - pleasant sweetness comes through in the finish, feel like this is honey driven and more than the standard TIPA. Slight earthy notes that carry through the finish, overall great
F: medium+ body, medium carbonation. Slightly drying, smooth, very drinkable
O: really happy with this brew, one of the best TIPAs I’ve had in a while. The nose is big and complex, dank with excellent fruit notes. Swallow delivers, with nice sweetness that I figure is honey driven
