This delectable concoction is a mouth full of silky sweet coconut. We took our base American style Stout recipe and decided to take it overboard with almost a pound per gallon of fresh and toasted coconut. With an aroma demanding every sense to be overwhelmed with sweet coconut, the flavor is much the same with a velvety body of sweet coconut.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate dark chestnut brown + dark cola brown + garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall pillowy dense foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering a little more than 95% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted coconut with a light hint of almost vanilla-like sweetness over the top of moderate aromas of roasted + caramel malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. Hints of fresh coconut.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of roasted + caramel malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by very light flavors of fresh coconut. Finally there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of toasted coconut with a light hint of almost vanilla-like sweetness. Light to moderate amounts of roasty bitterness are present but fade slowly away leaving a light lingering toasted coconut flavor.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol, a slightly lighter mouthfeel, and a lighter ABV making it a great spring/summer stout for here in NC (where it can get quite warm on spring/summer evenings). Enjoyable with really nice flavors and aromas of toasted + fresh coconut without any hints of suntan lotion.
