Handsome red-brown color with adequate foam in the Brigand chalice. Interesting aroma of stewed dried prunes, cereal, and xxx. Some spritz on the tongue with a solid malty body. I mean meaty haunches. Dark and invitingly fruity with something like figs and, is it jujubes, those weird dried fruits?
Belgian yeast performs it's usual magic transforming a sweetish brew into a dry finish. This is quite an easy to drink malty brew. It's not exactly a prize winner but for a very modest price you get a jug of strong Belgian-style beer. From the 32 oz growler filled at the brewery tap in the Bothell suburbia.
