Stopped by Decibel last week and surprised by the few beers on tap, but picked up a 32 oz crowler of this. Then tonight I read the place is closing after next weekend! Another whacky and independent-minded nano-brewery goes away.
This Porter pours the usual dark brown with an exuberant foam in the Belle-Vue Gueuze glass. Lush and creamy carbonation. Roasted malt, dark grainy flavors, and a hint of burnt sugar. Quite flavorful. The ABV is 7 percent according to the tap list. Warm touch of brown sugar, a buttery hint, and a touch of hoppy bitterness in the finish.

Poured from growler into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: extremely dark brown hue with a little bit of clarity around the edges. Head is a thin layer of frothy tan foam. It's a handsome beer.
Smell: roasty aroma with a nice malt backbone and quite a bit of coffee character. I like it.
Taste: richly malty, nutty and bready; there's a little tiny bit of toffee flavor here too. The finish rounds out with a little coffee roastiness. This is a tasty beer, and a good example of the style.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent enough carbonation and creaminess. It feels a little thin, to tell the truth, but overall not bad.
Overall: I like this beer a lot. I could see myself drinking quite a bit of it.
