Poured from a 16 oz can into a Pilsner Glass
The beer pours a deep mahogany with copper highlights and a huge off white head that slowly recedes leaving behind quite a bit of sticky lacing.
The nose is pretty mild consisting mainly of roasted malts with just a hint of smoke. There is also just the slightest hint of coffee.
Similar to the nose the flavor is roasty and smokey with hints of coffee, and almost a metallic aftertaste. The beer is bitter in all the wrong ways. Light bodied and moderately carbonated with a dry finish.
Overall, the beer is not terrible, but it is a bit too dry and bitter, and doesn't really fit within the Schwarzbier guidelines.
