Great version of a scotch ale.
A: Dark mahogany brown - not much head as is not surprising given the alcohol.
S: Rich caramel.
T: Wonderful - definitely some caramel sweetness - a bit of chocolate and brandy flavors in there. Slightly on the sweet side, but not as overly sweet as some scotch ales. Still, would be a better match to a dessert than to a meal.
M: Rich, smooth and delicious. Definitely heavy, but not syrupy luckily.
D: While very tasty, the 8 oz serving is about right. Just too rich for much more than that. Although I can't blame this beer too much for that, as that is somewhat part of the style.
Excellent offering by the Brewhouse. If they can do some more brews like this, I'll be making some extra visits. Well done.

At the recent Santa Barbara Beer Festival I was lucky enough to try The Brewhouse's Scotch Ale, which I believe is a new brew for them. It was quite a powerful drink.
A - Very, very dark red/brown.
S - Grapey, alcohol scent.
T - Tastes like a grape cough syrup, with the grapes having been rolled in dark chocolate and roasted. Very sweet and very strong alcohol flavor. But I like it!
M - The flavors bitch-slap your tongue until it screams "Uncle!"
D - Tough drink to make a daily habit of, but definitely a wonderful treat to sip now and then. Probably would be especially good on cold days.
