Poured a big, deep brown, maybe black with good carbonation and nice brown head. Nose is chocolate and roasted malt with a good hint of smokiness to it.Taste is where it was good but fell short of a smoked porter. Big and hearty with coffee, chocoate, roasted malt but the smoke was pretty heavy on the nose alone. While tasty but no smokiness. Mouthfeel is big, thick, roasty and warming but not smokey.

Draught at the brewery. Black with a tan head that leaves lasting lace. Dark chocolate and roasted malt aroma combine with a whiff of smoke to give a slight charcoal impression. The flavor is dry, with strong dark chocolate and bitter hopping with a light layer of smoke entwined in the chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with prickly carbonation that is just a tad too rough. A really nice porter, though as a smoke-head, I would have loved double the smoke presence.
