Deep red-brown, with a thin, lasting off-white head soon thinning to a foamy ring and wisps, some decent lace.
Aroma is mild but firm chocolatey roasted barley, some prune.
Taste is mild but firm, a nice light roasty barley and faint chocolate, very light earthy-woody bitterness, esp. in the finish. It has a light minerally quality, too. It’s a little thin, a bit subdued and fairly simple, but it has enough flavour, depth, etc., to keep it interesting and enjoyable.

Sampled 10/16/2010 at the brewpub.
Pours red/orange, slight haze, tall white head, little lacing or retention.
Aroma is caramel, pine, and lots of sugar. Also some bitterness and a bit of orange peel.
Flavor is too sweet and syrupy but also contains a decent amount of pine and citrus hop flavor, medium bitterness, and a splash of booze behind the caramel flavor. Minor chalkiness. Ample CO2.
Body is thick and the beer is plenty drinkable.
