493mL can, Pac'd MAR21 2018. Thanks once again to my cousin, Kris, for bringing me some beer from Canada. Black bodied ale with a tall brown head. Roasty aroma hinting at dark chocolate and coffee. Flavors start out with sweeter dark chocolate notes but quickly turns to bitter notes of roasted barley, charred patent malt, french roast coffee, earthy hops, and anise. Nice & creamy feel initially, but turns resinius and dry as the bitterness hits. Overall, I'm finding it good but a bit too bitter making it teeter on being an American Black Ale, in my opinion.

Pours an opaque darkness with two finger mocha head. Excellent lacing throughout the pint.
Lots of roasted malts with a hint of ground coffee beans on the nose. Hints of caramel among roasted malts and a coffee finish. Quite dry and a lasting roast presence in a clean finish.
A really nice take on a lower ABV stout that packs in a lot of flavour

Can poured into a fluted snifter.
Pours deep, dark, black and almost completely opaque. Creamy mocha head is built to last. An attractive beer.
Aroma is roasted malts, a hint of bitter cocoa. There is a noticeable bit of char, burnt toffee sweetness.
Flavor is rich and full of dark roasted malt, bitter cocoa and over roasted coffee. All blends together nicely into a rewarding and soothing deep and dark brew.
Creamy, but not full bodied, carbonation is at a nice moderate level suitable for the style. Dry, not a hint of syrupiness.
A nice brew. Continued to grow on me as it warmed. Clean flavors.
