Poured from .5l bottle to a small beer glass the liquid is a clear translucent dark plum with good carbonation. The head is tall close to 3 fingers, tan and leaves good lace.

The smell is great lots of dark and dried fruits, firs, plums, cherries, apricot and raisins.

The taste follows this is a very complex and flavor full brew, it reminds me a lot of what I like about kobinian. Full spectrum of DB flavor, fruits, dark bread, and roasted nuts with a hint of semi sweet chocolate and coffee. It even has a slight alcohol flavor as if the fruit had been soaked in it, Nice

The mouthfeel is smooth, full and nicely carbonated.

The drinkability is great a must try for the Db enthusiast and a back to basic brew to win back the impy stout drinker that lost their taste for DB. This brew is the real deal.

Clear copper verging on burgundy under a thin tan 1 finger head that settles quickly to thick film and leaves a bit of lace. There's lots of caramel in this nose, accompanied by a bit of fruity sweetness. The mouth is quite prickly and medium-bodied due to the sweetness. Caramel and plum dominate the opening, while a good crisp hoppy bitterness emerges in the finish. The fruitiness fades first, leaving the caramel sweetness and the hoppy bitterness to converge in the aftertaste. A pleasant convergence it is, too! Takes me back to my days as an exchange student in Munich. Sigh.

Two and a half finger thick tan head. Retention lasts forever. Body is dark ruby red, as well as copper in color.

Aroma is mild with maple and cherry.

Taste is rich with dark chocolate, cherries and a hint of cinnamon.

Mf is prickly carbonation, slightly dry and warm alcohol finish.

Drinkability is well above par, and is a desert in itself. The brew is complex and warming.
