Undated (WTF) can into pint glass. Pours a murky dark gold with a persistent off-white head. Initial impression is citrus rind, orange, light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium but not sticky. Alcohol is very well hidden. Finish is more citrus fading to slight spiciness. Overall, another solid DIPA from Ever Grain.

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy, dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of tropical fruits. Taste is oranges, pineapple, light passion fruit, moderate bitterness. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

Have you ever heard the adage of "One door closing means the opening of CANother"? The Pizza Boy horizontal became MUCH more involved than I initially imagined! Between long hours at work & not drinking as much as I would like as a result, it was a really protracted affair. It was also CANspirational in that they are based out of Enola, PA, on the west shore of the Susquehanna River, across from Harrisburg. Also on the west shore is Ever Grain in Camp Hill, PA & if that city seems familiar, then you may have been a Book of the Month Club member at one time. Fasten your seat belts as The CANQuest (tm) takes on this undertaking! 8/13.
From the CAN: "Cloudy Comet Double IPA"; "Proudly Brewed in Camp Hill Central Pennsylvania"; "Estd MMXVI"; "A Double IPA with aromas of orange, peach & passionfruit. Hops add notes of citrus & tropical fruit with a soft, pillowy mouthfeel."
I was caught off-guard during the Crack! when I got a REALLY good spritz, followed by some foaming through the vent. I allowed it some calming time & then peered in, only to see that it was an absolutely brimful craft CAN with nowhere for the tongue to go. 8=O I then beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug so as to prevent any dribbling or spillage since I did not want to deal with any kind of a mess. This resulted in the formation of just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with modest retention, quickly receding to wisps. Color was a deeply-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose smelled of fruit salad, including orange/CANgerine, peach & something tropical. Hmm. This does not fit with the Style descriptors. Perhaps this site needs to add "IPA - Imperial New England", but until then, this will suffer when reviewing & rating to style. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but on the approach. The taste, while pleasantly fruity, was nothing like the Style descriptors. Instead, it was a full-on fruit salad of the aforementioned orange/CANgerine & peach as well as pineapple, guava & passionfruit. That is fine & was fine, except for stylistically, where it was not fine. Finish was semi-dry, although semi-sweet was not out of the question. It just was not an AIIPA/ADIPA. Sorry. YMMV.

Fluffy orange hop clouds in your face. Not incredibly complex but when the taste and feel is orange julius what more do you want? No booziness here. I’d drink this often if it were available locally for me. Checks all my neipa boxes.

This beer is awesome. My favorite so far. Nice juicy 2x NEIPA. 9% abv is well hidden among the juicy notes of tangerine, pineapple and tropical fruits. If you can find it, buy some!

A - Dark orange color with some gold hue, and opaque. Thin white lacing surrounds the top of the glass.
S - Juicy orange and peach on the nose.
T - Orange, citrus, peach, tropical fruit, and slight peppery tropical fruit rind.
M - Thick, soft, chewy, wet on the tongue and dry on the sides of the mouth.
O - This is a fantastic D-IPA with no detection of alcohol whatsoever. A recommended try right here!
