I CAN really only get one (1) beer in per day what with working 10.5 hours/day x 6 days/week so it needs to be well-chosen. Today's is a CANtinuation of the brewery horizontal of these guys that I CANpleted recently. I just scored this (& a couple of others) at Rieker Bottle Works & it is perfect for today's entry.
From the CAN: "Rotational Series"; "Camp Hill, PA"; "Est. 2016"; "Sweet * Rich * Breakfasty".
Wow! I CAN only guess what kind of breakfast would include peanut butter & marshmallows! Or is it a 9.3% ABV beer that they envision me having for breakfast? 8=O
I CAN only tell you that it was in the afternoon when I Crack!ed open the vent & my breakfast of coffee & waffles was in the digestive tract by then. I beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass, but this proved to be a very active beer, evincing both a pseudo-cascade & then an unexpected overflow past the lip of the glass. 8=O It finally settled into just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with moderate retention. Color was Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing ZERO light penetration. Nose was quite sweet & while I definitely got bananas & marshmallows, it was light to short on peanut butter. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was very sweet with a banana dominance acCANponied by the marshmallow sweetness & a light coffee roastiness. It was on the finish that I finally beCAN to taste peanut butter, but it definitely should NOT have been given top billing! Finish remained quite sweet & one was plenty for me. YMMV.
