Sampling a cold 16 oz can poured into my snifter. This is a passionfruit, blackberrry, peach and marshmallow version. No 23.
Gift from my brother Curt, thank you!
The beer pours a sort of thick and hazy red to pomegranate color with the thinnest of pink edge layers only and no other foam.
the aroma is rich and fruity with a lot of blackberry and passion fruit notes mixing with general sweetness and some marshmallow notes. I do get a bit of a general tart scent showing up too. but mostly a sweeter berry dominated aroma.
First sip reveals a light to medium body with very fine and prickly carbonation. Beer drinks easy but the carbonation is a little sharp on my palate.
The flavor is fruity up front, again berry dominates and I get blackberry and raspberry notes, even if no raspberries were harmed in the making of this beer. There is some general sugary sweetness and again, I do taste marshmallow. Then some tart hits come through, like slightly unripe fruit and some peach lingers after each swallow. The beer dries out completely on the finish and encourages me to take another sip. Im still not a lover of these fruited sours, but this one seems fine for the style. Another solid beer from Ever Grain.

Thick, more sweet than sour, delicious, refreshing. Overwhelming fruitiness
