Skelm from Ever Grain. Purchased at Franklin Beer (Franklin, PA) 11/03/25. 16 fl oz can, $ 4.50 (Including tax)/ $ 0.281 fl oz. Reviewed 27/03/25 (Review 3484). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Stored in reefer at distributor and at 39 degrees F at home: served at 57.2 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 61.7 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.5
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), hazy.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 14), opaque. Under direct light. When rear-lite, barely translucent and sunny.
Head – Large (Maximum 4.6 cm, aggressive center pour), ivory, high density, good retention. Drops to a 0.53 – 0.7 cm crown and a heaped partial cap. Much lacing remains, forming a torn curtain pattern.
Lacing – Excellent! The entire inside of the glass is coated with lacing – tiny to near-microscopic bubbles – forming islands at the top, torn curtains, what could be the K/T barrier, then blankets. Simply stunning!
Aroma – 4.25 – Mild citrus – I’ll buy clementines. No yeast, no malt, no alcohol.
Flavor – 4.5 – Begins mildly sweet, with citrus. No yeast, no hops. No alcohol (8.5 % ABV, according to the label). A bit malty in the background. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Slight gastric warming. Ends slightly sweet.
Palate – 4 – Medium: slightly creamy: lively carbonation.
Style: Follows the style guidelines as condensed by BA.
Final impression and summation: 4.25 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Nice label, very Rick-and-Morty-ish. Not really detecting any tangerine, but after drinking imperial stouts, Baltic porters, Russian Imperial stouts, and barleywines for a solid month, it’s not surprising – palate reset time!

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a murky medium gold with a thin off-white head. Not much lacing. Initial impression is mango, dank earthiness, and a touch of pine resin bitterness. Mouthfeel is juicy and hefty. Finish fades to a lingering citrus bitterness. Overall, a quite enjoyable and nicely balanced DIPA.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. And yes, that can came courtesy of the creator of the canquest, woodychandler. Has a hazy orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of tropical fruits. Taste is dank. mango. hints of citrus, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.
