on tap at Gather- Giant, Camp Hill
enjoyed chilled in a pint glass
Appearane - opaque black with thin tan head fine bead lace in spots
Smell is very aromatic with lots of woody bourbon and hints of caramel but coffee and aroma is secondary to the oaky bourbon nose
Mouthfeel is rich and full yet not overly sweet or roasty not a lotof alcohol considering the abv either finish as a roasty texture and lingering woody dryness
Taste- a lot of malt, wood and lightly bourbon-like essence that combines with a subtle spice of coffee roastiness and sweet/ dark caramel malt sweetness finish is malty and semi dry
Overall - a pretty decent imperial porter that represents the style well but no one element: coffee, bourbon outweighs any other...I consider it good, but there are better versions on the market
