Undated can into pint glass. Pours a murky medium gold/honey color with a persistent off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is moderately sweet, hoppy, with citrus and candied orange. Mouthfeel is medium, bordering on sticky. Finish fades to a slightly sweet citrus. Overall, a good hazy by a local brewery that has the style nailed down, IMHO.

It's an ugly attempt to empty a pint can's contents into a clear glass Imperial pint mug. Now common to the modern American IPA, there's too much starchy stark white foam produced. The beer is dull dirty blond and it's murky. The aroma is of vague grains and hops. This isn't one for the nose. There are enough oats in the wort to provide some body, but it's a bland taste up front. The alcohol and hops then combine to bitter the finish, with piney being the closest available reference. Trouble is, oats and/or wheat just can't balance out this much bitterness and the taste of the alcohol gets exaggerated. The finish undoes much of the earlier perceived body. As with many of these new-aged IPAs, the glass lacing is irregular. Overall, this isn't worth the try. Unfortunately, there's plenty out there like it and many with more alcohol that drink smoother and better layered. It may be awhile before this four-pack gets finished, even after sharing one.
