Picked this beer up a while ago in Tennessee, as the bottom of the can read "DON'T LEAN BACK" with a date of 3/13/18 written below it. This was the first offering that I had from New Heights and it was nice, but not particularly memorable. No, this wasn't fresh but it held up well and didn't miss the mark in any way, shape or form. At the end of the day, that's not bad when it comes to an American IPA that one would want to kick back with!
This had a chalky, blonde hue to it with plenty of haze but thankfully, no sediment. The head and carbonation were minimal unlike the lacing, which was pleasing near the top as several thick rings were visible. Not a strong aroma to this but the smell and taste were full of citrus, cream, sherbet, and soft hops as this came across as a lighter take on a New England IPA. Quite dry on the palate, this could have used more bitterness and fruit to it although I know that this wasn't a fresh can!
The alcohol was low and not even noticeable throughout my session as this felt like something that I'd crack open again had there been more than one can on hand. Hints of melon and white cheese lingered once I finished this off and if nothing else, it was great to have a brew that was proud to be crafted in the Music City. I need to get back down there again soon!

Thanks goes out to Buck89 for this brew.
16 oz. Can
Canned On: 03/13/18
Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice hazy yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit), piney. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit), big pinyness. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely, with a dry/bitter finish. Overall, a tasty brew. To me, more of a west coast style IPA. Thanks John for the chance.
