Wow, I cannot believe no one added this yet. Either it was an extremely limited run or else no one drinks this stuff.
16 oz can, given to me by a beer shop owner in Chatt TN after we struck up a conversation. He said "you gotsta try dis" (well not exactly like that).
"Cranberry, Blood Orange, & Ginger American Sour Ale".
Canned on 12/31/19.
Batch 19 Glass.
Pours a transparent gold color with just the faintest hue of rose but only if you study it. The head is 1 finger tall and recedes to a thin ring leaving sheets of lacing where the finger was.
All elements are present in the nose in varying levels; the ginger and cranberry probably the easiest to pick out. There's a vinegar acidity and a general tartness of the aroma as well. Some dusty malt accompanies this.
POW! Ginger right away (if you don't like ginger don't buy this beer), followed by some nice tart citrus notes and I want to say passion fruit really...but perhaps that's the blood orange-cranberry talking. Finish of grapefruit, blood orange, and tart sour acidulated malt.
Feel is wet, clean, crisp, carbonated, all of the above. Zero alcohol as expected.
Overall a "crantastic" sour ale and one you should pick up if you like ginger and grapefruit. Not a total stunner, but definitely one I'd entertain again. Enjoyable. Tart. Sweet.
