Poured on tap at the brewery, the beer is a hazy, deep, caramel-amber coloring with a clingy, foamy, off-white head. Nose of heavy toasted grains, bright citrus notes, heavy pine, and rich caramel malt. Flavors are heavily roasted forward, with a burnt caramel sweet character to follow. Piney resin, bitter and sticky, is next to the palate. Solid citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon. Smooth, slick body, with a citrusy and malty backbone. Smooth, dry, and slightly cloying finish. Decent beer.
