16oz can, June 4, 2020 sticker on the 4 pack, poured into a stemless wine glass.

The beer pours a very cloudy orange color, amber hues with a firm finger of white head that has good retention and lacing. The aroma is pleasant, super sticky and resinous pine, dank and grassy, assertive grapefruit peel, light citrus, doughy malt and sweet alcohol. The flavors are very good, tons of dank and sappy pine, great bitterness, nice oily hop spice, grassy and green, very dank with a nice floral character, strong grapefruit peel, orange juice with a hearty grain backbone. The mouthfeel is good, coating and creamy with an ultra smooth heavy body, just a nice crisp bite of carbonation and an easy finish.

Verdict: A nice DIPA from Old Irving. Very reminiscent of the classic West Coast style IPA in flavor but perhaps with a bit of the new school hazer juiciness. A very big beer for sure but it certainly doesn't suffer from it.

One of the owners of one of my favorite beer stores told me “don’t sleep on this one.” Good call, sir. This beer is excellent. Hazy orange/apple juice appearance. Slight head and lacing. Smell is citrusy orange, a slight shark and bitter hoppiness underneath. Taste is citrusy-orange notes, an orange creamsicle flavor. Bit of a tangy bitter undercurrent on the aftertaste. It’s not a big or bold example of the style, as it’s got one of the most subtle feels for a New England IPA that I’ve had. This is why you should listen to your beer store owner!

Released 2/6/20; drank 2/16/20 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque dull orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a nice eggshell head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.

Orange citrus, dry grass, cream & mild wheat notes in the nose.

Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Tangy orange citrus, dry grass & mild cream flavors; no booze heat.

This misses that perfect fruity/dry mix that the best NE IPA's master; it's OK, but not one to go out of your way for.
