Look - Pours a pitch-black color with a very dark brown head that only lasts about 30 seconds. Thick lacing is noticeable on the glass when swirled along with light foamy bubbles.

Smell - Heavy malt notes, with bourbon, vanilla, and cacao.

Taste - Chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon. Very nice!

Feel - Very smooth for a 15.9%ABV stout. Even though the bourbon is strong, it's subdued nicely by the chocolate/vanilla.

Overall - I'm usually not a huge fan of double barrel aged stouts, but I think the cacao and vanilla complement it nicely.

Appearance: Pours pitch black with a fast-fading beige head; leggy with a few speckles

Smell: Melted dark chocolate with hints of vanilla and Bourbon

Taste: Rich, dark chocolate dominates from start to finish with just a hint of vanilla joining; the Bourbon emerges, in the middle, but is not distinctive though it lingers some, in the finish

Mouthfeel: Full-bodied and creamy with low carbonation; some warmth in the gullet

Overall: There is a lot of chocolate here, actually too much, as the other flavors don't really stand a chance; a great dessert beer but hard to consume the whole can

Appearance - From the can, the beer poured a soft black color with a little bit of a dark tan head.

Smell - Sweet bourbon, and a hint of cookie spice led the way.

Taste - The profile was like sweet chocolate cookies, in liquid form. It had a little bit of Christmas spice to top off the profile. The sweetness of the booze lingered nicely.

Mouthfeel - It was not particularly thick, but it coded the tongue.

Overall - I loved it and wish I had more.

Krampus in the house! That’s a sign it’s going to be a good evening. 16 oz. classic can with the red-tongued on prominent on the label.

Pours as still & black as a good Krampusnacht, but a lot less scary. The nose is stenchy with bourbon & a soft bit of fudge.

Double Barrel Krampus drops the bourbon hammer. From a good height. Bourbon infuses the senses, & I lean back with a mouthful & bliss out for a bit. The bourbon is wet & woody, eschewing subtlety for musclebound shouting. The base is solid as always: sweet, soft, just a touch gritty, & complementing the bourbon so well you want to shout “get a room already!” No alcohol evident (at least until my 3AM bathroom stumble) & it’s full, filling, but ain’t no pastry stout. 16 ounces? No problem.

The integration of barrel & stout is borderline flawless. Another top-shelf offering of Krampus that I’d swarm all over if it was even somewhat available. Fantastic brew.

Had on tap. Pitch black shimmering body, tiny brown ring for the appearance. This is a nice change of pace in that there are no adjuncts, tons of bourbon barrel with sweeter chocolate malt, vanilla, and molasses with an emphasis on the brown sugar. Smell accentuates the barrels powerfully, chocolate, black licorice, vanilla sugar and malt all well represented in serving the bourbon barrel overlords. Feel is boozy yet cooler, velvet smooth, medium bodied, malty for sure with limited sugary texture
