Poured from a mini growler. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a thin light khaki head that dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dry caramel and biscuit malt, nuts, dates and a bit of peaty smoke. Flavor follows with dry caramel malt with a touch of biscuit, filberts, dates, a little dried plum and moderate peat smoke. Nice lingering residual maltiness and peat. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A good, malty scotch ale with a flavorful amount of peat. Light, but complementary dried fruit. The peat is quite nicely done and authentic. I liked this Scotch ale, my second beer from Floating Bridge. Both seemed OK on first taste and grew on me quite a bit as I drank them. This was on the board as "Squirrel Hunter Scotch Ale" @ 8.7% ABV, but I'm guessing it's their standard Scotch ale. Nice.
