This beer was specially blended for the first BXLbeerfest in Brussels 2017. It consists of Fantome Saison with 1 and 2 year old lambic with a 12 month maceration with sour cherries aged on American oak barrels.
And the beer was amazing.
Almost no head on this this sirupy beer with a strong smell of delicious cherries. The taste brings all the look and smell imply and the mouth feel is wonderfully full for a lambic. An amazing beer again by Bokkereyder.

Pours a very dark cherry color, its not possible to look through the glass, with no head at all.

Smells of candied cherries and a subtle sourness. The beer is quite sweet on the nose with the slightest hint of hay and funk. Jammy, but also a little one-dimensional.

Drinks expectedly flat with prominent cherry appearance among an easy comprehendable sourness.

Tastes of an initial sourness, which gets accompanied by rich, ripe cherries. The cherries do have a sweet, not yet juicy appearance, which goes very well with the well nuanced tartness in this. The silkness in this makes the cherry stand out even more, unfolding in a juicy sweet way. Finishes soft, more sour than sweet, while the cherry remains easily recognizable.

This is fine, not overly complex or unforseeable, but well executed as for its cherry appearance.
