750 mL bottle. Deep red with an ample pinkish collar. Smells of cherry, vanilla, cherry pit, marzipan. Tastes of cherry, strong dried grass, lemon tartness. Oaky finish with a lingering stone fruit tart. Moderate sourness (very mild by Bokke standards). Very nice.

750ml bottle that at Ebenezer's in Lovell ME. Dark red color, really nice cherry aromas. This was the first time I got more than just a few ounces of a Bokkereyder bottle. I kept thinking it was quite delicious but did it deserve the hype? It's up there with Lou Pepe Kriek and better blends of 3F Schaarbeekse but to me it wasn't something I would chase after a second bottle.

750ml bottle into Zalto stemware.
Looks like black cherries liquified in a glass. Nose is black cherry skins, a touch of plastic, stone fruit pit, oak, and cobwebs. Super aromatic with huge fruit notes. Beer opens black cherry sweetness, plastic, and stone fruit pit. I get oak and cobwebs in the middle with a very light tartness that serves to balance a juicy cherry flesh. Dry, tart finish with a lingering, big cherry flavor in the aftertaste. Body is light with moderate carbonation. Foamy on the palate and goes down soft with a lingering, filmy aftertaste.
I've rarely met a Kriek I don't like and this is no exception. Absolutely excellent.

I prefer the straight stone fruit blends to this, but the cherries were a unique twist on that. I felt like the cherries took over this beer and I didn't get as much stone fruit as I'd like. Still, another great blend.
