1, 2 and 3 year old lambic with 3 varieties of Reine Claude plums. The fresh, overripe, aromatic plums for this beer were harvested in Hageland (Belgium) and Northern France. Exquisitely the plums communicated their graceful yet complex harmony to us. So we blended the plum lambics with this fragility in mind and tried to translate the elegance and appearance of the fruit into the beer. Made with lambics that were aged on barrels that previously held müller thurgau wine, which gives a smooth vinous finish to the beer.

Foggy peach-ish pink under a fuzzy white head that recedes to a creamy rolled collar.

A nose both floral and uniquely woody, perhaps a bit like cedar, the body is crazy fluffy and light, delivering beautifully delicate tart stonefruit in the finish.

Softly semi-dry and extremely refreshing, the funk is mild and pairs well with the floral juiciness.

A 750ml corked and capped bottle, 2019 vintage, bottled in February 2020. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.

Appearance: A lightly hazy golden orange colour with a two finger white head that had good retention and left some nice lacing.

Aroma: Sweet and tart, plum, plum skin, lemon zest, honey, green apple, dusty, funky, oak.

Taste: Sour, tart, some sweet notes, plum, lemon zest, candied grapefruit, peach, oak, and light funk.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.

Overall: Very nice and enjoyable juicy aroma and flavours. I think I would really enjoy this Reine Claude plum varietal, as this is not the only lambic that has used Reine Claude plums in it, yet both were just outstanding.

Bottle pour into taster glass.
Bright semi-murky orange color, with a soft lazy thin head that floats on the surface for a while. Plum and stone fruit throughout. Medium body with pleasantly lively mouthfeel.

Zwanze Day 2022. Thanks to Ed for sharing this one!

Bright gold, intense aroma of woody spice, tannic fruit skin, white grape and stonefruit.

Tart and juicy stonefruit, woody spice from the golden plum, very expertly blended and balanced. Medium bodied with ample carb, tons of fruit intensity. Overall very lovely, maybe a step beyond Tilquin and De Cam versions, the golden plum is very expressive.

750 mL bottle. Orange body, nice white head. Smells of very pleasant stone fruit, dried grass, and oak. Tastes of white grape, tart stone fruit, oak. Dries out a lot. Tart stone fruit lingers. Medium body. Smells excellent. Taste dries out a little too much to be as delicate as the nose. Good, though.
