Inspired by one of our favorite metal gods, TLJ is hopped with citra, cascade, and loral hops. This pineapple-orange tropical blast has restrained bitterness and a creamy mouthfeel.

tasty hop complexion makes my first beer from these guys a winner, even if its a little less refined than the very best of these. citra, cascade, and loral, maybe others too, an uncommon and even unlikely combination, we see loral so much more often in lagers and the like, cool to ramp it up and let it roll here a little bit. thick and orange juice looking in the glass, very little head after the initial pour settles a minute, but plenty of big bubbled carbonation popping off, lots of haziness, not quite sloppy, but its not gorgeous either. the nose is almost old school, yeah its dry hoppy, but the essence of the cascade is still undeniable, and the loral gives a neat almost noble herbal bitterness to this, grass and tea and maybe like verbena or something slightly medicinal. fruity too though from the citra, pineapple and melon, orange candy, lots of generic pale malt with just a little sweetness to it, bigger than it needs to be even with this bold hop profile, a pint smells like a lot of beer, tastes like a lot of beer, and feels like a lot of beer, even with a modest abv for the style these days. the flavor is more fruit forward, some cascade and cannabis type spice and intensity comes on later, more resin and dankness then, but the tropical tones stay the whole drink so that the finish is quite intense. the grain is fuller feeling but sort of samey in terms of taste, nothing exotic or different there. most uniquely i can appreciate the loral with these other hops, key lime, green melon and its rind, some peach nectar too from somewhere as it warms. palate coting but not real bitter, somewhat sweet through most of it, more of that as it warms too, and nothing much from the ferment. the beer itself might not be expert, but the hop combination is fun, unique, and delicious. i will look for more beers from these guys when i am out this way again, bold and with a lot of personality this one...

16oz can from Geissler's. Hazy yellow pour, skin of fine white head. Light tropical fruit aroma, oranges. Taste is zesty bitter, fruity notes fading into the background. Finishes dry with a little bit of mouth coating.

Poured from a 16oz can stamped CANNED ON 8/16/22 to a Nonic at fridge temp.
Body is a deep opaque gold. A three finger off-white head floats above, but fades in just a few minutes, however lacing is impressive till the end.
The aroma is melon and citrus rind.
The taste is similar, cantaloupe and orange peel, not overly sweet but there is a mild hop burn on the finish. Alcohol is notable, but not intrusive.
The mouthfeel is on the light side of creamy and carbonation is appropriate.
Nice beer, but would be excellent without the hop bite finish. Maybe a freshness problem?

Very juicy and crushable 6.5% NEIPA. Good mouthfeel and carb, lots of fresh juice notes, pineapple, mango and sweet citrus. Nice light hop bitterness and bite on the back end.
