Our flagship beer and winner of the August 2014 “Be a Brewer for a Day” competition. This Double IPA features a bright, citrus, and floral nose, followed by a mellow malt backbone and finishing with a strong hoppy bitterness. The maltiness in the middle makes this very drinkable and appealing to IPA and non-IPA drinkers.

16oz can courtesy of @jzeilinger; first experience with Yergey
Poured into a Sunriver Brewing Belgian-style tulip
P brilliant gold/orange/copper with a tiny white cap
N soft-med indiscernable fruity hops, resin, and sweet malt
T smooth caramel malt, mellow citrus, and a touch of spruce; simple and easy-drinking; malt dominates as it warms, but that's not a bad thing; nutty aftertaste; maybe light stone fruit in there too
Mf med-bodied w/ soft-med carb
O a likable dipa; not super bold, but really drinkable

Poured from a draft into pint glass in February 10, 2019.
Appearance: Dark golden to Amber color with light tan head. Darker than most other IPAs. Head is very thick and there is nice lacing.
Smell: Strong aroma of hops, pine, and citrus, as well as some sweetness. Overall the hops aroma dominate the other aromas.
Taste: Great taste. There is a typical hops and citrus flavor but with some sweetness as well. This is not as sweet as some other IPAs. I like the bite from the hops, as well as the hoppy after taste. Overall a nice balance and very drinkable.
Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy bodied. Strong alcohol which matches the 9.5% listed.
This is a very good IPA. It has a nice mix of grapefruit, hops, and other flavors, which makes it interesting. I like the overall balance, and that the hops are pronounced but do not dominate the flavor. I like this better than many other Pale Ales. I will buy this again.
