Visited on Sunday. As others have described the place is in a touristy section and has a vibe of visitors and locals wanting a good craft brew. When we went, the place was lightly busy at 4:00 in the afternoon. Saw several shoppers there as well as a local college's drinking team. Big open and airy. Their are games of cornhole and a couple others outside which makes the place very family friendly. Lots of great taps--30 in all with several locals like Beer'd and other regional beers like Captain Lawrence. Definitely had several taps I could not get locally. Service left a lot to be desired. You need to order all food from the bar. My parents ordered their entrees separately from my wife and I. Their food did not come out until 15 minutes after ours despite having fewer items ordered. My father actually had to go back to the bar and see where the food was, when they realized they made an error. On top of that, when we closed our tab, we were billed another party's food which was not noticed until after our card was run. The Jealous Monk really did not do anything to make things right...That said, the food we did receive tasted great despite a limited menu. The schnitzel was divine, the steak frites were hot and crispy, the pretzel was nice and fluffy and the chili was good. Overall I would go back, just do not expect a lot if anything from the service.

I'm not sure how long they've been open, but the place still has that new bar look & smell. The vaulted ceiling gives the spacious barroom an open inviting feel. The bar seats 25-30 people and runs the length of the left side wall, beer garden style tables are around the perimeter and in the center of the room. Hi-tech Digital Pour beer menu was a very cool and useful amenity, and one that I hope catches on elsewhere. They had 30 beer on tap, a well-varied assortment of styles and a nice mix of local, popular, and imported craft choices. Service was attentive, and the food was excellent.

New contender for top beer bar in CT. Really, I was really impressed last night. Selection, vibe, food, they hit on every category. Heard about it, had to try it.
Slight complaint, on a Saturday between 4 and 5 there was definitely not enough staff behind the bar. About five, reinforcements came and it was fine.
As best as I can determine, they have only been open fall and winter. We went at the beginning of February. The potential for the beer garden they brag about looks good.
My biggest worry about this place is that this is tourist central in the summer. On the plus, it this will ensure that they last. On the minus, there are probably entire seasons we locals should avoid this place like the plague.

Right in Mystic Village, definitely didn't expect this one to be so great! 30 taps with a cool digital draft list that even shows how much is left in the keg; super informative! Service was very attentive. Place seems clean and pretty basic on the inside, nice high ceilings and I love the classic biergarten rules: pick a spot to sit (any spot). Outside has some tables and a small greenery area for hanging out. They made good use of the space and I wish them well.
As said before, the 30 beers and the digital draft list definitely leads over competitors. Beer is a pretty mixed bag, there's some good "starter beers" as well as some local treats. They seem to have a solid representation from Germany and Belgium as well. I had the Kent Falls This Isn't Even My Final Form and Ayinger's Kirtabier. No food ordered.
Definitely stop in for a brew when you get off the highway or if you're wandering around Mystic Village. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

First off, this is a must-visit spot for craft beer geeks in the area.
The inside is nice and roomy, not too loud, with friendly and accessible service. The menu is relatively small but pretty creative, and darn tasty.
But the beer!
Over 30 taps, every bit of it craft. There is a really unique blend of solid German brews (e.g. Weihenstephaner), Belgian brews (e.g. Delirium), and American craft. There is an equally wide range of styles, from lager to stout to IPA to Berliner Weisse.
