Came a clear rich amber with a thinner off white head atop.Caramel/biscuit malts and underlying pine-like Cascades underneath, more malt driven for sure.Biscuity malts with lighter sweetness the hops play a more supportive leafy, slight pine-like presence.Cascades are a more subtle hop nowadays but this a decent well rounded beer, almosr American ESB- like in my opinion.

A single-hopped Pale Ale, using that classic of American hop. Pulls a lot of interesting, and somewhat unexpected, flavors out of Cascade, all mixing with a substantial, sweet malt flavor.

Served in a pint (a full pint, for sure!), in the taproom. Medium amber in color; slightly hazy. There's an off-white head, 'bout an inch and a half, which has fairly good retention. Clean glassware means good lacing! Looks like a meal of a brew as it goes down, leaving a curtain of bubbles. The Wise Man logo really pops through that orange-amber color of the beer!

First aroma impression is a lot of malt. Sweet caramel hits immediately, and only with a little more searching do we start to unearth those Cascade notes. From then on, a decent amount of floral qualities. Fresh pine and spruce tips, light and pleasant, and then some spice. Not a whole lot of citrus (like that classic grapefruit typical of the "C" hops), but a rather enticing bouquet of floral, herbal, and spicy things. Honeysuckle, sweet tobacco leaf, and some grassy notes are especially apparent the more you dig- and increasingly so with each sip. Very interesting mosaic of sweet floral aromas. I dig it!

First sip is sweet and caramelly, with some floral notes. Bit of spice on the back end, but the sweetness remains. Little touch of zesty grapefruit early on, but as the beer warms, the more efflorescent it becomes. Slight grassy bit is there, and a sticky kind of sweetness again recalls tobacco in the field. Quite nice! Bitterness comes in late, and is quite pleasant- slightly tamed by the bloomy sweet quality, yet nicely expressed on the back end.

Smooth, medium + body belies a still crisp finish. Quite easy drinking despite the pungent flavors. No real booze presence in keeping with the sessionable ABV.

Very interesting floral qualities pulled from the Cascade- something you don't get everyday. Seems well-complemented by the sweet and sturdy malt. Good balance. This is a beer you enjoy more with each sip!
