Rich and dark, this silky smooth lager seduces you with sweet malty flavors, but drink carefully, since it packs quite a punch at 8.5% ABV.

Look: It pours brown with a bit of clouding. It has a tan head with below average head retention.
Smell: It has some sweet aromas that features plums and prunes. It has some candy like elements in the background with a touch of spice.
Taste: The taste is sweeter than what the aroma lets on. Dark fruits still dominate the flavor featuring plums and a candy like elements. There is a spiciness in the background.
Feel: It has a medium full body with a finish that is sweet in the finish.
Overall, I believe the beer is a bit sweeter than I like for my taste even though I do like the dark fruit elements.

Pours an effervescent chestnut with a pinky of fast falling sandy colored head. Traces of head retention & lacing
S: Brown bread, a little booziness, caramel & leafy hops
T: Caramel forward, woody hops, a touch of gingerbread & little booze bite up front. Woody & leafy hops, brown bread & caramel this beer warms up.
MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, a little warming. A little more carbonation would've helped
In my Doppel wheelhouse for the most part, has enough heft to keep from getting too carried away, or least that's what I'll say since I only have this pint

Appearance: Pours a clear amber color with a one finger beige head; decent retention and spots of lacing
Smell: Caramel, brown bread and dark fruit tones of fig and date
Taste: Caramel and brown bread forward with the fig and date flavors building; the dark fruits blossom on the taste buds, after the swallow; while sweet, the beer is not cloying
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Congrats to Wise Man for landing this beer in Craft Beer & Brewing's top 20 beers of 2023 list; this is a well-executed Doppelbock
