True to its Bavarian heritage, our traditional Oktoberfest is copper in color and malt forward. We use generous amounts of Vienna malt to provide a toasty compliment to the sweet character from two different Munich malts. Noble Hallertau hops provide balance and nice floral note to the final product.

Mostly clear lightly burnt amber with a short white head leaving some wobbly lace on the glass.
A little maltier than many of the marzens we enjoyed at GABF, but pleasantly so, while still leafy yet not nutty. The finish is dry, herbal and bitter.

my first from these guys, a superb example of the style and worthy of its bronze gabf medal this year, congrats to them for that, deserving. its copper color with a low shine in the glass and an appropriate inch of airy white foam. smells familiar, nothing radical or even defining about it, its just well executed and authentic. i get the sweeter caramelized vienna malt character along with a moderate noble hop dose at the end, herbal, grassy, a little bitter against the fuller malt, some bready and baked biscuit character too, perhaps a hint of almond, fallen leaves, and even oak, definitely autumnal and hearty. the flavor is beautifully fresh and grain driven, and thankfully not as sweet as it smells, good balance, the hops come in midway through, also seemingly very fresh, and the yeast is somewhat subtle but also properly german to me, old world appeal all through this. i like the grain layers beyond the vienna, hints of hotdog bun, warm oatmeal, and light maple, very pleasant and perfect for the fall. good carbonation, a little more crisp to finsih with the hops than a lot of these are, and as such supremely drinkable. they did an awesome job with this, very classic and traditional to me, makes me thirsty to try more of their stuff! bravo.
